of stars
twisted in braids,
swirling in eternal dance,
Heavens!

Hi Shaily,
I enjoyed reading your poem.
I actually read it on the day it was published but I didn’t leave a comment immediately cos I wanted to learn more about lantern poems.
Then came some “wanted distractions 🙂” and I totally forgot.
As someone who wears long braids, I can picturesquely imagine your description of swirling dancing stars.
Nice one👍🏼

You captured the marvel of stargazing very nicely, Shaily.

Thank you, Pete! One of the NASA pictures of Milkyway is permanently stuck to my mind. It looks like an ariel view of a woman dancing with arms open, swirling around eternally. When I think of a billion galaxies moving in rhythm with each other, it feel like an eternal dance.

Thank you, Sonya! While it makes more sense in Japanese where each letter represents an idea, it can create powerful visuals in all languages! 😊
