Dipping toes in the river,
I’ll never drown, never swim, never live,
While you call me from far shore.

It has a deep melancholy indeed.

My piece was actually about love for Allah. It is said that the easiest and yet the most difficult way to reach Him is to love Him. Easy because we have all experienced love. Difficult because we never truly believe that that He will love us back. Our lack of faith is all that is keeping us apart.

I didn’t get that religious connection, Shaily. But as I am not religious, that’s no surprise.
Best wishes, Pete.

I had not clarified the religious connection, Pete. It is a speciality of Urdu poetry that I have grown up reading, that every couplet about Love has a double meaning. One is about a humanly love and the other about divine. And it is upto the reader to take the meaning as he/she wants.

Hey John! Sometimes, we are just too afraid to try. Thankfully, I tried and W is by my side. My piece was actually about love for Allah. It is said that the easiest and yet the most difficult way to reach Him is to love Him. Easy because we have all experienced love. Difficult because we never truly believe that that He will love us back. Our lack of faith in ourselves is all that is keeping us apart.

Hi Don! I have been trying to collate her pieces but can’t decide on the best ones. She had been using water colours and had been busy. She had also been telling me some reallyu fine stories, worthy of children’s book! 🙂
