The food is never so enticing
as when you are denied.
Water never has such a hold
until your lips are dried.
But you wait for the signal
and a not a moment before
do you let it touch your lips
as you surround it
and yet ignore it,
praying,
waiting until you are free
to devour it.
Ah! Bliss!
Nicely done, Shaily. Also a message for those of us who have never wanted for food and water
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks Pete! I was just thinking of the moment when we sit waiting for the signal to break our fast during Ramzan. It is the most difficult time of our day when food is waiting for us and we are waiting for the precise moment when we are allowed to eat

We are lucky not to have Ramadan in England. (Other than for English Muslims) Nobody would stick to it!

an effective piece of writing; it’s just enticed me to have the cereal I haven’t had yet 🙂
