She looked at the sky
With the longing
Of a bird in a cage
Through the small window
In her marital home – her prison.

When she left the house that night, she had tied a dupatta across her face. No one must see her.
Her trembling hands clutched the money she had ‘earned from the service’. Her children would not go hungry today…
In a world where people complain about never finding true friends, I have been blessed with too many to count. Every city I have been to had someone I could love and trust completely.
Yes, I risked trusting too many–sometimes it backfired; sometimes it paid off.
I could have sat inside my comfort zone licking my wounds, but I preferred putting my heart out there so that I would never be alone again.
I had a frustrating day at work. I was worried about timelines, office politics and impending performance appraisal.
When I returned home, my tiny daughter ran up to greet me. Once in my arms, she cupped my cheeks in her little palms. Looking in my eyes, she said, “Mommy! I love you!” She kissed me and ran back to her dolls.
She left me smiling from ear to ear…
Nearly 19 years ago, I found someone I could hold hands with and love without a reason. She was my sunshine.
She was the reason I wished college was open on Sundays and hated Summer vacations.
After we went our separate ways, I wrote more in letters to her than in notes for college. I missed her.
I hope, you know it is You!
I hope you know I still miss You!

Daughter: He broke my knee!
Mom: If I see the boy again, he will be sorry.
After 16 years…
Daughter: He broke my heart!
Mom: If I see the man again, he will be sorry!
She watched in horror as her 80-years-old husband exchanged vows with a 40+ woman.
Tears flowed down her face. She knew he would not wait for long but, at least, he could have let her grave dry.
I wondered why my toe had begun to hurt last night while I was sleeping. It still hurt.
Then, my Bestie limped inside the college, having stubbed the same toe at the same moment.
We laughed at the strange ‘co-incidence’, not knowing it was only the beginning…
-Based on our true story (D & Me)
He looked at the tears flowing down her blackened eyes. He pulled her in his arms and, once again, said, “Sorry, Love! Just don’t make me angry again.”
So, here I am 50-stories old. Well, I had posted a couple of more, but I just realised that it is time to celebrate!
You: “What’s the big deal? It is just 50 x 2 lines!” (Most of my stories are 2-3 lines long.)
Me: Hey! I had also created 50 X 2 characters! For someone like me who had always believed that I lack imagination, it IS a quite a big deal! 😀
You: Not all your stories were good enough!
Me: They were at least there. I dared! 😁
Also, I have been blogging for nearly one and half years and still running in full steam! That ought to count too!
You: Okay, so how you want to do to celebrate?
Me: Well, I have already finished my wild dance alone! Just wanted to let everyone know that I was terrible…yet overjoyed. At least now that I have blurted it all out, I am so tired that I can sleep! YEEEEEEE! Or may be I need to dance a little more first!!! 💃
